Feature Film being made!

I mentioned in my previous post that I'm working on the creation of my first feature film. Well, I'm ridiculously excited about it and I hope you are, too! The website for the movie is http://www.darklingsmovie.com

The movie is not an SP movie (though that might be fun someday *wink wink*), but is still a great time. It's called 'The Darklings' and is a dark fantasy. Production will start this summer (2010). For the people interested in the technological side of things, it will be one of the first movies shot on a Canon T2i DSLR camera. It's really exciting.

Also, as fans of the SP series, you will be interested to know that there will not only be a comic series released with the movie (in Flash, iPhone, Download, and Paper versions), but also a free VIDEO GAME in the escape-the-room style of the Shotgun Princess! This game will be released very soon after the release of SPII: The Goblin Prison.

You may also be interested to know that even though production hasn't begun, we're already taking pre-orders for the DVD and digital download versions of the movie. Pre-Order money will help support the creators, but also mainly to help us make a better quality movie, comic, and game, as well as to help us make more of everything faster! (Imagine having a new SP game every month or two!)

Shotgun Princess: The Goblin Prison! VERY SOON!

Hey all! Thanks for the long wait on the sequel! Wanted to let you know a couple things- first of all, I'm leaving up the old posts just for fun, however, I'm not going to follow the older style of the posts (in story/journal form). The story will continue, but in a different fashion. The games will also continue. Part of the reason that things are changing (and have been practically since the release of the first game) is because I am in the process of shooting my first feature film called 'The Darklings.' More info can be found at http://www.darklingsmovie.com (I'll give you more info in the next post).

As for the long-awaited sequel to SP to be called 'The Goblin Prison,' the wait is almost over! I've been working on it for quite a while and am timing it to coincide with a big push for 'The Darklings.' I apologize that it's been such a long wait, but after all this gets going, I think it will be easier to get the sequels on SP moving much faster!

My plans are to have the game finished within the next week or two, then to get a sponsor (have an offer? :P ) which usually is a quick process. Then it's up to the sponsor to decide when they want to do the initial release... then you get to play it!

Thanks for all the support and I hope you continue to play the games and also to take an interest in my movie!

Many people have been asking about when the next episode of SP will be released. I apologize for the long wait, and regretfully need to say wait... wait just a little bit longer! There have been a lot of things happening beyond my control, but the hope is that between the second and third episodes, there will be a DRASTICALLY shorter waiting period. Thank you for all of the support from everyone. SP loves you all.

It's coming back... and I need your help

It's been a long time. I need to shave. I'm no longer in Iowa. My travels to track down SP have taken me far. I have a new video game coming out to help spread the word.

I blacked out again. Too much stress, I guess, but I've been better.

It's kind of a game, but don't get me wrong- this is serious stuff. I'm finding out more and more that there are goblins involved. Something is happening and I have a feeling that next time I talk to you, whoever you are out there, you're going to have some real answers. Until then...

Health and Recovery...

I've woken in a strange place. There are people here, at least, they look like people although very light of foot and all very thin and pale, but they act very strangely. I think they are the reason I am still alive. With my scrape with death and hypothermia, I still am having moments where I have problems concentrating. I still can't leave my bed, but I got... permission... from my friends here to give an update on my adventure. At least, I believe them to be friends, and so far they have been proving to be so, but I still get a strange feeling. As much as I appreciate their help, I will be glad when I can leave and find the Princess.

That brings me to my next point. They are hiding something. I have been asking about the Princess and they refuse to answer any of my questions regarding her. I tend to distrust people who hide things from me. The only assurance that I get is that they tell me the words, "all in good time..." although I still find it mildly annoying at the same time.

The last I knew, I was still in the woods, and can't remember anything past my last update, and then I woke up here in this bed in this room. I have no windows and the room is dimly lit with candles, although it is still very cozy. However, don't get me wrong, I'm ready to go. Being superglued to a bed has never been my forte.

I think I will be able to get up and walk around tomorrow. I hope to know more by then about either SP or my situation... or my location... or really about anything. Too many things have been obscure up until now and I hope they clear up soon.

I have a feeling, though, things may be getting darker- and I'm stocking up on candles... so to speak.

Harsh Winter

The cold is oppressive. It's hard to think when the colors are dark. No, that's not quite right- it's when the water is cold and the river is deep. I'm losing sight of my role. I can't find a grasp of the situation. My mind flickers in and out of impossible situations. This must be hypothermia. This must be the creeping feeling of love lost and sight unseen. When will I find her, and how soon can I pretend like everything is okay? I feel the world closing around me. One more step... if I can manage.

Grog's Place

I'm at Grog's place right now. I know this is where she was supposed to go. Her father told her to come this way. The problem is, I don't think she made it here. I see no evidence of her having been here.

There's another complication, I don't see evidence of Grog being here lately, either. It's a small little cottage. More of a hovel or a hut really. There is a picture of Grog on the mantle, one of those moving photos where the people don't remain still in the frame. He seems happy. This must have cost more than the hut. What am I doing here? I don't know anything about magic or princesses or otherwise. I feel like I'm walking in a dream. I've been here it feels like (and not just Grog's hovel), but then again, I can remember practically to my birth and I know that I've never experienced anything of magic. Why does nothing seem strange to me? Why does everything feel so... familiar?

Having eluded those who would be my captors for the present, I will rest here at Grog's house for a day or two. At least there's a bed. I can gather my wits about me.

I'm nervous though. I hear whispers in the forest.

I don't have much time, but I know that SP is in danger. Of course, right now I'm in danger myself. She's trapped somewhere. I think the Goblins have her. I should have gone with her. I'm not sure what's best right now, but I need to find her. I need to get out of trouble first. Right now I'm breaking to leave this message and to take a much needed rest, but I assure you that at the end of this post my legs will be moving faster than, well... fast.

After she left the house it seems she was able to stay out of trouble at least for a little while. I know that the Goblins razed the house to the ground. She will never be able to go home again, or, at least, to that home. Why didn't her father tell her sooner? What is this really all about? I struggle to obtain the answers that elude me.

I saw the house burning. I thought I might have caught sight of the witch, but I couldn't be sure. There was definitely a witch there, I just don't know if it was the witch. I hope she hasn't caught scent of her trail.

It's time to go. I must be on my way. If you're reading this, make haste, protect yourselves, I think this may be bigger than I first suspected.

Embarking on a Journey

The Shotgun Princess has no knowledge of her own nobility.

Recently, the Shotgun Princess has left her home in haste. In the wake of her father's death, she came home one night after an extended hunting trip. I was with her. I would like to believe we are very good friends.

Discovering a note on the door with ambiguous connotations, she entered the house. Discovering the door locked behind her, she rummaged through her father's things for the first time since his death. Finding more notes and unanswered questions, she began to realize that something was amiss. More than that, she was in immediate danger. Without much time to ponder, she devised a plan to leave the house.

Following strict instructions from a note written by her father, written before his untimely death, she went into the dark woods behind her back yard. She was to seek a man named Grog. He was supposed to help her- that's what the note said. That's all I know for now. I'm doing what I can to track her down. I know of her danger.
